If the data is null/missing for AVG(), AVG() skips out null data and calculate or error out (=count missing data point e.g., Excel Average function)?

AVG() only calculates not null values!

And what if you want to treat the null values as zero?

How can we calculate the average (or sum for that matter) downloads per unique categories?

I’ve tried:

SELECT DISTINCT category, AVG (downloads)
FROM fake_apps;

but no results are returned…
