I am stuck on the admin/auth module for the Build Python Web Apps with Django.
I can create the superuser in the CLI, but when I try to log into the admin portal, I keep getting a CSRF error.
I’ve tried with and without the :8000 port. When using the 8000 port, it keeps redirecting to standard port after attempting to log in (https://localhost/admin). No matter what, I get the message saying no CSRF token was provided in the cookies.

Edit/Update: This appears to only be an issue when using Safari, and is working properly in Chrome.

I am puzzled by this exercise. When I type the information into the terminal, it won’t let me type anything into “password.” Also on the browser screen, it should have fields for username and password, there’s no email address.

I had the same issue, and ChatGPT solved it

If you’re unable to type the password when creating a superuser in the Django terminal, there could be a few reasons for this issue:

  1. Password Input Not Visible:
  • Sometimes, when you type a password in the terminal, it won’t be visible for security reasons. This is a common behavior for password inputs to prevent others from seeing the length or characters of the password as you type.

Solution: Type the password as you normally would and press Enter. It should accept your input without displaying it on the screen.

Good ole Chat GPT. Thank for your response.
