Exercise 10: Ending up

#1
Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong here?

pyg = 'ay'

original = raw_input          ('Enter a word')

if len(original) > 0 and      original.isalpha():

word = "word.lower()"
first = "word[0]"

new_word = word[1:len         (new_word)] + first + pyg
print 'new_word'

else:

print 'empty'

#2

Explain how it behaves differently from what you want/expect, and post your code properly formatted. If we can't just copy it and run it to get the same thing to happen, then you didn't post your code at all, you posted something different.

What's more with you explaining your observations is that we can help you figure out how your observations can be used to figure out what needs fixing - or if you missed something. Which is more than just pointing out the mistake, it's making you better at finding them yourself.

#3

I think you need to use
word = "original.lower()"
instead of
word = "word.lower()"
