Ending up-Pyglatin

On exercise 10, Ending up, on PygLatin

Error message:
File "python", line 9
word2 = [1:len(word)]
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
It also says that my code didn't run to completion.

My code is down below

pyg = 'ay'

original = raw_input('Enter a word:')

if len(original) > 0 and original.isalpha():
    print original
    word = original.lower()
    first = word[0]
    word2 = [1:len(word)]
    new_word = word2 + first + pyg
    print 'empty'

To slice something you've got to specify what that something is
