I can't understand whats wrong with this code?? please explain

<table style="border-collapse:collapse;">
            <thead>
                <tr>
                    <th colspan="2" style="color:red"><em>Famous Monsters by Birth Year</em></th>
                </tr>

you have 3 th tags,the first one:

<th>Famous Monsters by Birth Year</th>

the second:

<th>Famous Monsters</th>

and the third:

<th>Birth year</th>

now, you should add the em tags to Famous Monsters and Birth Year. (second and third), your first one is famous monsters by birth year (note: the second and third are described with the word and, the first with the word by)

Hi, I am facing the same problem here. I have followed your instruction all the way but I still can't figure out. It's keep telling me.

"Oops, try again. Surround 'Famous Monster' with tags!".

Well, can i see your code so i can check it? i shouldn't find the em tags in <th>Famous Monsters by Birth Year</th>, right?

Dude, its a silly mistake we have done, May be as I have done you have used the tags in the table heading part. Instead of that use the tags for row headings. This will work.

Check out this code:

<tr style="border-bottom:1px solid black;">
                <th style="padding:5px;"><em>Famous Monster</em></th>
                <th style="padding:5px;border-left:1px solid black;"><em>Birth Year</em></th>
            </tr>

Hope you got the answer, Have a happy coding :smile:
