Does VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) still have much practical use in 2019?

I was just wondering (mostly in terms of industrial demand) whether it is worth investing time and resource into learning VBA at all? Or is there a better alternative that provides the same/better functionalities?

There are lots of different opinions on VBA existing in the future or not. If you read Microsoft Excel 2019 VBA and Macros by Bill Jelen (Mr Excel) and Tracy Syrstad, published by Microsoft Press, then you will find that VBA is not really going away. The entire office system (i.e. the other apps also) can be interacted with VBA.

I would learn VBA if you are looking to become an accountant or a financial analyst.
