Diff between parameter and argument

I cannot understand the difference between a parameter and an argument, in this exercise it says "First, def a function, shut_down, that takes one argument s. " Where is the parameter here? I'm getting super confused between em

well, this is the official explanation of the design:

Parameters are part of a function definition

Arguments are part of a function call

unfortunately, many people mess up this terms all the time (not just novice, many programmers don't care about the exact technical terms, as long as they know how to use them)

While i was helping out on the forum in the beginning, i also mixed up these terms. Took me a while to get them right (you need to if you are helping people out)

this should be take one parameter s.

This clears it up for me, Thank you so much!

You're welcome
