Did you remember to set your link's text-decoration to none;?

Am I using the wrong text for the link selector in my CSS?

https://www.codecademy.com/en/courses/web-beginner-en-TlhFi/4/5?curriculum_id=50579fb998b470000202dc8b

h1{
font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;
color: #576D94;
}

p {
font-size: 40px;
font-family: Segoe UI, serif;
color: #4A4943;
}

img {
border: 1px solid #4682b4;
}

link {
text-decoration: none;
color: #cc0000;
}

Replace this line with your code.

link is the word we describe this html element:

<a></a>

but link is not the right css selector

#3

I'm getting the same error and I appear to be using the correct syntax...so must be missing something. Here is what I have, any suggestions? Could it be HTML related or simply a CSS typo? This is the CSS text:

h1 {
font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;
color: #576D94
}

p {
font-size: 18px;
color: #4A4943;
font-family: Garamond, serif;
}
img {
height: 100px;
width: 300px;
border: 1px solid #4682b4
}

a {
color: #cc0000;
text-decoration: none;
}

#4

seems fine, try a different browser

#5

That did the trick! I heard chrome did some recent updates which may have been causing the issue. I switched to safari and it worked, thanks!

#6

there seem to be many people experience this problem of late in chrome

#7

I'm having the same issue. I tried in Chrome and in Microsoft Edge. I don't currently have Firefox, and I'm not really interested in downloading it just for this one thing...

#8

if all this browsers don't work, i suspect there might be bug in your code

please copy paste your html and css code to the forum

#9

I've also had the same issue in Chrome.

MS Edge worked fine with the exact same code.

I was getting the same exact thing in Chrome, then IE. I proceed to download and install Firefox and am still getting the same exact error.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated, as I cannot advance to the next lesson as the situation currently stands.

My code provided below.

index.html:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
	<head>
		<link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="stylesheet.css"/>
		<title>Result</title>
	</head>
	<body>
	    <h1>Burping is funny!</h1>
	    <p>After years of painstaking research, I've determined that single malt Islay scotches are for me! Blends are smooth, mellow, & easy to drink. There are even peaty blends, but I find their flavor to be muddled & lacking in conviction. I've had a peated speyside, hoping for a perfect balance of smooth flavor and smoke. What I got instead was only the faintest hint of smoke. Yessir, it is only peated Islay Single Malts for this brother going forward!</p>

p {

font-family: Garamond,serif;
}
