Did you add the fallback fonts to the main heading?

#1

I'm on fallback fonts (Fonts exercise 4) and hung up on the first instruction:

  1. In style.css, set the first fallback font of the main heading and subheading to Garamond, and set the final fallback font to serif.

I can't tell what I'm doing wrong here - the error message I'm getting is "Did you add the fallback fonts to the main heading?"

As far as I can tell, I have. Here's the relevant code:

h1 {
  color: #FFF;
  font-family: Georgia, Garamond, serif;
  font-size: 32px;
  padding-top: 100px;
  text-align: left;
  width: 60%;
}

h2 {
  border-bottom: 1px solid rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.5);
  color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.5);
  font-family: Georgia, Garamond, serif;
  font-weight: 100;
  font-size: 22px;
  line-height: 24px;
  padding-bottom: 30px;
  text-align: left;
  width: 70%;
}

Please help, thanks!

I ended up using a different browser and it worked. It seems to be an issue with Codecademy and Firefox.

#6

I've just tried it in chrome, everything executes flawlessly. Actually the whole site seems to not work very well on Firefox. Bit of a shame.

#7

I had the same problem on firefox. Chrome is working fine, Thanks scrub_tutor for the tip.

#8

Try using a different browser.

I resolved the issue myself by using chrome instead of firefox.

how many of you are using Firefox?

#9

#10

Same problem! Chrome not working either. :unamused:

#12

Same problem! Been stuck with this for a while.

#13

Same here using Chrome. My code:

h1 {
color: #FFF;
font-size: 32px;
padding-top: 100px;
text-align: left;
width: 60%;
font-family: Garamond, serif;
}

h2 {
border-bottom: 1px solid rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.5);
color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.5);
font-weight: 100;
font-size: 22px;
line-height: 24px;
padding-bottom: 30px;
text-align: left;
width: 70%;
font-family: Garamond, serif;

#14

Same problem here. I'm using Firefox.

@joaogil:
the instructions says, that you have to set the first fallback font to Garamond, and set the final fallback font to serif. You just set a final fallback (serif) but no first fallback.
In my opinion it should be:
font-family: Georgia, Garamond, serif;

#15

So, I tried different browsers. In Chrome it worked for me too.

#16

I tried Chrome, and all the possibilities to font-family: Georgia, Garamond, serif; but didn't work. : (

#17

i try the same but it doesn't work ?

#18

I had the same issue in Safari. Opened it up in Chrome and it worked (same code).

#19

I'm in chrome but it still don't work

#20

font-family: Georgia, Garamond, serif;

and now I have a problem with the paragraph

#21

Also the get code doesn't work. I was really liking the course .I'm disapointed.
