Deviation

#1

Hi, this code works, but I don't want the number to be a "long" number (see below in bold); I even told the code to float the number and it still won't change it!

def grades_std_deviation(variance):
return float(variance) ** 0.5

print grades_variance(grades)
print grades_std_deviation

THIS IS WHAT THE DISPLAY WINDOW TELLS ME:
334.071005917
function grades_std_deviation at 0xdf9410
None

Can you please help me try to change the 0xdf9410 number into something more like a real number?

The reason you're getting that result is that you're attempting to print the function definition as opposed to the actual result of the function.

You're missing the variance parameter when you call print grades_std_deviation
