CSS Selector Exercise = "Rock Your Selector" Doesn't Work

#1

Hello EV1,

Can't seem to get code to work in the part of the exercise:

EXERCISE SAYS:

On the CSS tab:

Set all paragraph text to the hexadecimal color #00E5EE.
Set all paragraph text for paragraphs nested inside div tags to the hex color #CC0000. (What color will they turn if they've already been told in step #1 to be #00E5EE? See the Hint!)
Put a border with the hex color #3A5FCD around every HTML element. It can be solid, dotted, dashed, 2px, 3px, whatever you like!

THIS IS MY ENTERED CODE THAT DOESN'T WORK. I RE-SET 2x.
ANY IDEAS? Thank you! - Monique Rene

1 * {
2 color: #000000 dotted 4px
3 }
4 p {
5 color: #00E5EE;
6 }
7 div p {
8 color: #CC0000;
9 }

Wahts wrong ?Oops, try again. Did you remember to give your image a 1px solid #4682b4 border?

Hi,

the issue is here: "color: #000000 dotted 4px"

  • here you have to use the "border"-property;
  • under the rules of the properties specified in the order of line thickness, line type, line color
  • put a border with the hex color #3A5FCD (carefully check the instructions to the task)

Here is corect solution for this task (for example):

/*Add your CSS below!*/
p {
color: #00E5EE;
}

div p {
color: #CC0000;
}

  • {
    border: 2px dotted #3A5FCD;
    }

If you have any questions, I will be glad to help you! :slight_smile:
