CSS lesson 9/10

#1

I have been beating my head against this for sometime now and I am at a loss. Here are my instructions:
Instructions
1. Make a new CSS rule that selects the a element inside

..

2. Set the color to #00b0ff

Here is my code:
.nav a{
color: #5a5a5a;
font-size: 11px;
font-weight: bold;
padding-top: 14px;
padding-bottom: 14px;
padding-left: 10px;
padding-right: 10px;
text-transform: uppercase;
}
.jumbotron h1{
color: #fff;
font-size: 20px;
font-weight: bold;
font-family: 'Shift', sans-serif;
height: 500px;
background-image: url('https://goo.gl/04j7Nn');
}
.learn-more h3 a{
background-color: #f7f7f7;
color:#00b0ff;
font-family: 'Shift', sans-serif;
font-size: 18px;
font-weight: bold;
}

What is it that I am doing wrong?

#2

.learn-more h3 a will select any links (<a></a>) inside h3 elements, but you want to target all links in .learn-more, not links in h3 in learn-more

#3

I have attempted to take out the a behind the h3 as well. and still get this response:

Oops, try again. Set the color of the a elements inside

..
to #00b0ff.

Here is my code with the a removed:
.nav a{
color: #5a5a5a;
font-size: 11px;
font-weight: bold;
padding-top: 14px;
padding-bottom: 14px;
padding-left: 10px;
padding-right: 10px;
text-transform: uppercase;
}
.jumbotron h1{
color: #fff;
font-size: 20px;
font-weight: bold;
font-family: 'Shift', sans-serif;
height: 500px;
background-image: url('https://goo.gl/04j7Nn');
}
.learn-more h3 {

background-color: #f7f7f7;
color:#00b0ff;
font-family: 'Shift', sans-serif;
font-size: 18px;
font-weight: bold;

}

I still get the error. What am I doing wrong?

#4

you need to create a new css selector which will target the link (<a></a>) inside your .learn-more

#5

Can you tell me how to do that?

#6

add a .learn-more a to your css?

#7

so what am i doing wrong?

#8

you set your h3 inside .learn-more to color #00b0ff, not your links (<a></a>) inside .learn-more to this color

If you can't mak sense if this, i might recommend to the html + css course to gain a better understanding of html + css before doing make a website

#9

i did it thank you :smiley:
