<In what way does your code behave incorrectly? Include ALL error messages.>

Console won’t accept input to test code. Initial input requests prints, cursor flashes, but nothing appears on screen when typing. After a short time lapse the letters SCT appear and cursor jumps to next line, but expected results don’t print. Nothing prints when just hitting enter either. Have actually run answer provided in lesson and still have same problem
<What do you expect to happen instead?>
I should see either the word entered or empty

```python
Replace this line with your code.
print ‘Welcome to the Pig Latin Translator!’
Start coding here!
original = raw_input(“Enter a word:”)
if len(original) > 0 and original.isalpha():
print original
else:
print “empty”
<do not remove the three backticks above>
What happens if you comment out the input line and hard code the original variable value
#original = raw_input(“Enter a word:”)
original = 'surprise'
I’m having the same problem.
I’ve tried your suggestion and after running the code, the console displays RUN with the cursor on the next line.
Edit: At first a refresh still didn’t solve this issue, but after closing and coming back to the page the issue was resolved.
After exiting and restarting the exercise I was finally able to get the
screen to accept input. Don’t really know what fixed the issue.
Unfortunately I am unable to continue with training because I have no
access to a licensed copy of the SW
