Hello recently codeacademy page has been taking very slow to load on my desktop computer, however on my laptop(5Ghz wifi connction it’s smooth) I’ve tried to use wirelss 5Ghz adapter for my desktop PC but it dosent really work because the PC is far away from my Wifi router
Hi @datamaster01968, welcome to the forum.
If the site loads fine on your laptop over Wi-Fi, but takes ages when you’re using Ethernet, that would suggest the issue is with your network or hardware rather than the Codecademy site.
Obvious things to check would be:
- check your cables,
- check the port speed - this is probably more relevant if you’re using a “powerline” adaptor (those things you put into an electrical outlet to run a network through the mains wiring), as many of the older/cheaper models I’ve come across are only 10/100 which can be frustratingly slow.
- give the switch/router/hub/whatever a reboot.
Hopefully that helps.
WiFi connected but no Internet : Start with the router
On the other hand, if the Internet doesn’t work on other devices too, then the problem is most likely with the router or the Internet connection itself. One good way to fix the router is to restart it
The best way is to restart your device and router once has right now it is not started properly. Slow wifi or no internet connection can be the only problems
