Code Academy doesn't recognise the <!DOCTYPE> tag

#1

I'm in the process of doing this unit, however although I have put in the <! DOCTYPE> tag at the start Code Academy doesn't recognise it and I can't do the next bit?

#2

That is because in html basic you learned the correct doctype declaration is:

<!DOCTYPE html>

Awesome! Thanks, I completely forgot. This doesn't come that easily.

if you edit/update your question, leave a reply so i get a notification. Your code is not visible, take the following steps to make it visible:

#6
<!DOCTYPE html>
<head><title> Ice Cream, You Scream, We all Scream for Ice Cream </title> </head>
<body><h1>My Love for Ice Cream</h1></body>

========================================================================

I have the same problem. Can anyone let me know what I am doing incorrectly? Thanks.

<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
    <head>
        <title>House Frame</title>
    </head>
    <body>
        <h3>H3 Title</h3>
        <p>paragraph 1</p>
        <p>paragraph 2</p>
    </body>
</html>

exercise 4/6? you need 3 paragraphs, you have two

I am trying to complete "Every House Needs a Frame" lesson. I added a third paragraph but I continue to get "Oops, try again. Make sure you put in your <!DOCTYPE> tag!" Do I have a syntax error somewhere? Thanks.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
    <head>
        <title>My Frame</title>
    </head>
    </body>
        <h3>HEADER #3</h3>
        <p>Para 1</p>
        <p>Para 2</p>
        <p>Para 3</p>
    <body>
<html>

your closing html tag is missing a slash, apart from that it is fine, if you still get a error, try a different browser

THANK YOU!!!! I suspected it was a small detail. Great. Now I can move on.
