having trouble. dont know were to start

#2

having trouble making the link.

#3

Remember that in order for CSS to work in your HTML page, you need to link the CSS page.

In order to link a CSS tab to the HTML tab you'll need to add three things,

the <link/> tag will need at least:
1. type
2. rel
3. href

This was talked about in earlier lessons but it's basically as I said it. Remember that the type is equal to "text/css", rel will be equal to "stylesheet", and href will be equal to your .css page, "stylesheet.css".

If you don't understand still then let me know and I'll help you, but this should be enough for you to figure it out!

If you need help with this lesson, it's best to go back and try over the basics again. 5. Link it up! in CSS: An Overview, Unit 4. All the information you need is there for you!

I hope this helps! :smiley:

	<title>Result</title>
</head>
<link type="text/css" "rel= "stylesheet" href="stylesheet.css"/>
<body>
	<h1 style="font-family: Verdana">Change me to Verdana.</h1>
	<h3 style="font-family:Courier">Change me to Courier.</h3>
	<p style="color: purple;">Make me purple!</p>
</body>

This is css an overview, why would you use inline style? Do you have a question?

Hi,
My lesson doesn't get validated.
The error is: Oops, try again. Did you remember to include a rel="stylesheet" in your tag?
This is my code. I went back to lesson nr. 5 and checked, it seems to be fine. Also, the results are correct.

What am I missing?

Code

<head>
		<link type="text/css" "rel= stylesheet" "href=stylesheet.css"/>
		<title>Result</title>
</head>

#10

the " before rel should be after the equal sign

Thank you! :smile: It worked, the same applied for href as well.
On to the next!
