Cheatsheet search bar

I want to include a search bar in my cheatsheet now so I can quickly locate the element or attribute in question. What would be the proper action assignment? I want the search result to redirect me to the part of the page that contains the information I’m searching for.

Here’s what I’ve got so far, but it doesn’t take. nothing happens.

<div class="search_container">
<form class="direct_search" id="search_bar" action="./cheatsheet.html" method="GET">
<div class="search_input" id="search_input">
<input id="searchInput" name="search" type="search" size="15" autocomplete="on"
</div>
</form>
</div>

maybe I’m mislabeling the target (please excuse my terminology. I’m still new.)

<td class="l" name="search" id="html_tag">HTML tag</td>

Thanks!

You’re probably going to need a bit of scripting to make this happen (e.g. Javascript) – Generally speaking you can jump to element using # tag on preface eg… page.html#jump_here…however you’re saying you want a result.

 <div class="search_container">
 <form class="direct_search" id="search_bar" action="./cheatsheet.html#html_tag" method="GET">
 <div class="search_input" id="search_input">
 <input id="searchInput" name="search" type="search" size="15" autocomplete="on"
 </div>
 </form>
 </div>

  <td class="l" name="search" id="html_tag">HTML tag</td>

The above might work for one instance. But in a search, you’re going to have a variety of results.
