I started working on the big Full Stack Engineer course, but when I reached the end of one of the sections (about the various programs I will use), your system recommended that I take "I started working on the big Full Stack Engineer course, but when I reached the end of one of the sections (about the various programs I will use), your system recommended that I take a 1-hour course, “Choosing a Programming Language” about how to choose a primary program language.
It seemed harmless to take that brief course, and then go back to where I had left off in the big Full Stack course.
But your system seems to have deleted my work in the Full Stack course!
Specifically, I found that at the 88% point of the “Choosing a Programming Language” course, that section provides links to the various courses, OR a link to " Are you still unsure of what to get started with? Try our quiz!" I already took that quiz, which had told me I could apply for the Full Stack course, which I did start.
I have already spent several days in the Full Stack course. Is there some way I can get back to where I had left off in Full Stack?
I am not a subscriber, but the catalog shows the link for “Full-Stack Software Engineer” career path as:
https://www.codecademy.com/learn/paths/full-stack-engineer-career-path
If you click on the above link, does it take you to the correct path with your progress intact?
Also, when you click on https://www.codecademy.com/learn , is your path/course listed on the page? If so, what happens when you click on the path/course?
Sorry, the answer to BOTH of your questions is NO. Neither one restores my work. It says my Full Stack course is now at 0%. It has completely killed 3 days of work.
That’s strange. Progress shouldn’t be lost unless one chooses to reset it.
Perhaps try reaching out to Support.
As mentioned in the page “Lost Progress Unexpectedly”,
Use care when resetting. If your coursework has been reset accidentally, contact support by using the “Contact Us” button. We’re happy to help restore your work as best we can.
It IS INDEED strange, and yes, I have reached out to support. Don’t know if they will respond on a weekend, especially a Holiday weekend.
It is hard for me to believe that this would be intentional design, because I would think a lot of people would need to get information from a secondary course, while they were working through a current course.
AHA! I did find one place that showed my work history : https://www.codecademy.com/learn/paths/full-stack-engineer-career-path. Even though Its summary showed 0 percent completed, I found that I could click on the latest completed item, and get to the corresponding lesson page. YAY! I was able to continue my studying!
Then I worked through a lot more lessons, several hours of work. When I checked that same link shown above, I now found that it was displaying a percentage again. And the percentage it showed after hours of work was … 1% !
So it seems that that there are so many lessons to work through that I had to work through a LOT of lessons in this big class before I even reached the 1% mark!
Sorry, my bad!
