Can't get through 10/3 Jumbotron

#1
.nav a {
  color: #5a5a5a;
  font-size: 11px;
  font-weight: bold;
  padding-top: 14px;
  padding-bottom: 14px;
  padding-left: 10px;
  padding-right: 10px;
  text-transform:uppercase;
}

.jumbotron {
  background-image: url('https://goo.gl/04j7Nn");
  height: 500px;
}

I look through other posts, and still stuck with error:

Oops, try again. Set the height of the <div class="jumbotron">...</div> to 500px

Help anyone? Thank you!

#2

Can we have the related HTML, please. Also include exercise instructions if possible.

Thank you.

#3

Instructions: In main.css

Make a new CSS rule that uses the class selector .jumbotron
Set the height to 500px
Set the background-image to url('https://goo.gl/04j7Nn')

#4

What do you mean by related HTML?

#5

Can anyone spot a problem in this? I love to get through this part. Thank you.

.nav a { color: #5a5a5a;font-size: 11px;font-weight: bold;padding-top: 14px;padding-bottom: 14px;padding-left: 10px;padding-right: 10px;text-transform:uppercase;}
.jumbotron {background-image: url('https://goo.gl/04j7Nn`);height: 500px;}

#6

Your problem is there.

You have opened the url with ' but closed it with ". Fix that.

Also, "related HTML" means, if provided by the exercise, include the HTML code.

#7

Hi Jacob, yeah I fixed the ' but still provide error. Any other tips?

#8

Maybe set the url itself to http://s3.amazonaws.com/codecademy-content/courses/ltp/img/lodging.png rather than the shortened goo.gl link.

#9

Thanks Jacob, I will try that out and let you know.

#10

.nav a { color: #5a5a5a;font-size: 11px;font-weight: bold;padding-top: 14px;padding-bottom: 14px;padding-left: 10px;padding-right: 10px;text-transform:uppercase;}
.jumbotron {background-image: url('http://s3.amazonaws.com/codecademy-content/courses/ltp/img/lodging.png`);height: 500px;}

Still error :frowning:

#11

This is still not the right character to end your URL with.

`
'

See the difference?

Off topic

Interestingly enough, because of a bug in the early days, the CSS spec was relaxed to permit unquoted URLs (in a CSS property). My memory is vague on this but if I recall it was something to do with IE5 on the Mac.

#13

Yes, I got through! Thanks. I also had to go back to the orginal URL.

@cloudrockstar78352 What happens if you set the height before the background-image?
And would you mind posting your HTML, please?

zystvan i am sure is fine. I just don't know how to go back.
