Cant find error: Bleep Bleep

Bleep Bleep

Getting error code : SyntaxError: Unexpected token.

var cashRegister = {
    lastTransactionAmount = 0,
    //Dont forget to add your property
    add: function(itemCost) { +=  itemCost;
        this.lastTransactionAmount = itemCost;
    scan: function(item,quantity) {
        switch (item) {
        case 'eggs': this.add(0.98 * quantity); break;
        case 'milk': this.add(1.23 * quantity); break;
        case 'magazine': this.add(4.99 * quantity); break;
        case 'chocolate': this.add(0.45 * quantity); break;
        return true;
    //Add the voidLastTransaction Method here
    voidLastTransaction: function() { = - this.lastTransactionAmount;

//Void the last transaction and then add 3 instead
cashRegister.scan('chocolate', 3);
//Show the total bill
console.log('Your bill is ';

I think you're missing a bracket. Check the syntax slowly!

Thanks @root4af. I have added a bracket under : lastTransactionAmount = 0,
This is the only place where i can see that might of been missed. This however has flared up another error message: SyntaxError: Invalid shorthand property initializer.

I'm totally lost....

Oh no, that's not where it was missing! :smile: I'll give you a hint.

All the logic and functions before you start scanning, it all goes inside the cashRegister variable.

Also check these lines, one of them is wrong!

lastTransactionAmount = 0,

Thank you for your help, I have managed to find my mistakes :slight_smile:
