h2 { color: red; font-size: 300px; background-color: black; } #warside { position: fixed; right: inherit; } What am I doing wrong that my stylesheet won't link to my HTML

Might wanna check the preview before you post. Posts can be formatted with html
Which means that you need to tell the forum that it should leave your code the way it is.

I’m not sure what you did to make it appear in the post like this, but my best guess is that you didn’t link your style sheet in the <head> </head> section. Also, if this is how your code is actually written, you didn’t properly open the html tag. It should be <!DOCTYPE html>. As it stands, it’s hard to really know for sure what the problem is. It would be beneficial to us and you, if you re-edited your post with the proper formatting for code.
