Can all fonts be bolded with the `font-weight` property?

Question

Can all fonts be bolded with the font-weight property?

Answer

No. The font weights available for use are dependent on the font-family itself. Some font families do not have a bold form.

Is it possible to give font-weight a numeric value?

Again, documentation:

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/font-weight

very useful for seeing what value properties can have

What font’s won’t be affected by the font-weight bold property

maybe you can find a list online? Good change there is one, but it doesn’t matter. If you intent to use a font, you can try to make it bold, see if it works

Thanks for the answer, stetim94, but how we set normal value for a certain section of the text?

normal values are often the default? And surely the default/normal value is listed in the documentation?

Thanks much for your prompt response!!

How to bold just one sentence of a paragraph in css?

To bold just one sentence of a paragraph in CSS, you can wrap that specific sentence in a <span> element and then apply CSS to style that <span> . Here’s an example:

<p>This is a paragraph with <span class="bold">one sentence bolded</span> while the rest remains normal.</p>
.bold {
  font-weight: bold;
}

In this example, the sentence “one sentence bolded” will be bolded while the rest of the paragraph remains in normal font weight.
