As I continue my development journey I wanted to create a few open ended projects that I can continue to expand on as I learn more about web development. I also wanted to learn how to use AWS (2 weeks ago I had no idea what AWS even was), so for the last couple weeks I have spent a ton of time in the AWS management console playing around with Route53, s3, Amplify, WorkMail, Lambda, etc just trying to understand how they work and what they do. I followed tutorial after tutorial and read through hours of documentation, and the end result is a static website through AWS Amplify, with SSL, that is linked to my GitHub repository, and updates automatically every time I push a new update to the repo. Oh, and it’s cheap.
Anyway, I’m sure this is old news to many reading this, but I am happy with the end result and hope this info can help someone else on their journey in some way. This is starting to get really fun, I can’t wait to learn more about APIs!
Check it out!
Disclaimer: It’s a work in progress (what project isn’t…) & it looks much better on mobile at the moment.
