Box shadow

Hello coders!
I have a doubt on this class:

#sun {
    position: absolute;
    top: 50%;
    left: 50%;

    height: 200px;
    width: 200px;
    margin-top: -100px;
    margin-left: -100px;

    border-color: orange;
    border-width: 8px;
    border-style: solid;
    border-radius: 50%;

    box-shadow: 0 0 128px red;

So, box means square and for my sun border, it's circular so why can't I type circle instead of box? Could you please explain it to me?
Thank you!

Hi Slimbeast,

Not necessarily, that's just the association we have with the word “box”. You could have a round box, and it would still be a box.
Because of that, box-shadow is a valid term for even a circular shape, I think.

Does this help you?

Okay, I understand. Thank you very much!!
Have a great day friend! :slightly_smiling:
