Bootstrap - how to use?

#1

Hi everyone,

I am to write a code for a project and I really liked Bootstrap.
What I don't understand is how to start using Bootstrap in my code. Do I need to download it?

In the editor in the exercise in the head:

 <head>
    <link href="http://s3.amazonaws.com/codecademy-content/courses/ltp/css/shift.css" rel="stylesheet">

    <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://s3.amazonaws.com/codecademy-content/courses/ltp/css/bootstrap.css">
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="main.css">

  </head>

I don't understand this link. Can someone please explain how can I install Bootstrap and how to use it in the code for my own use? What do I need to do so that when I render code it recognizes commands from Bootstrap.

Thanks in advance!

Have you been to the Bootstrap site yet? http://getbootstrap.com/

Go to their Getting Started page. You can either use their CDN to link to the Bootstrap files like we did in this project or you can copy all of the files to your hard drive or web server -- which will depend on where your other files are going to be.

Thanks for the reply.

I would like to use Bootstrap like you did in the exercises - insert link in the head section. However, I don't know which link to insert.
I have been to their site but as an absolute beginner I don't understand the terms the best.

Would you be so kind to provide me with steps how to generate that link (what files to create, where to save them should I download something or not etc)?

http://getbootstrap.com/getting-started/

this is the link of the first page of bootstrap website.
You can see the CDN link a few lines after the "download button"

there is no need to generate it, just copy paste it
