Bleep Bleep - Seems legit, but just not passing it

#1

Greetings fellow web creatures,

My code runs fine, but my total is wrong and I can't seem to pass this lesson, please assist.

Here's what I get when I run the code:

Your bill is 30.150000000000002

Oops, try again. false

This is my code:

var cashRegister = {
    total:0,
    //Dont forget to add your property
    add: function(itemCost) {
        this.total +=  itemCost;
        this.lastTransactionAmount = itemCost;
    },
    scan: function(item,quantity) {
        switch (item) {
        case "eggs": this.add(0.98 * quantity); break;
        case "milk": this.add(1.23 * quantity); break;
        case "magazine": this.add(4.99 * quantity); break;
        case "chocolate": this.add(0.45 * quantity); break;
        }
        return true;
    },
    //Add the voidLastTransaction Method here
    voidLastTransaction: function() {
        this.total -= this.lastTransactionAmount;
    }

};

cashRegister.scan('eggs',4);
cashRegister.scan('milk',4);
cashRegister.scan('magazine',4);
cashRegister.scan('chocolate',4);

//Void the last transaction and then add 3 instead
cashRegister.voidLastTransaction();
cashRegister.scan('chocolate',3);

//Show the total bill
console.log('Your bill is '+cashRegister.total);

@rorygrenade,
Try it by using

cashRegister.scan('eggs',1);
cashRegister.scan('milk',1);
cashRegister.scan('magazine',1);
cashRegister.scan('chocolate',4);

//Void the last transaction and then add 3 instead
cashRegister.voidLastTransaction();
cashRegister.scan('chocolate',3);

Hi leonhard.wettengmx.n

Thanks for your response, still stuck though I'm afraid. I modified my code using your code and I get:

Your bill is 8.55

Oops, try again. Did you scan four of each item?

Here's the full snippit:

var cashRegister = {
    total:0,
    //Dont forget to add your property
    add: function(itemCost) {
        this.total +=  itemCost;
        this.lastTransactionAmount = itemCost;
    },
    scan: function(item,quantity) {
        switch (item) {
        case "eggs": this.add(0.98 * quantity); break;
        case "milk": this.add(1.23 * quantity); break;
        case "magazine": this.add(4.99 * quantity); break;
        case "chocolate": this.add(0.45 * quantity); break;
        }
        return true;
    },
    //Add the voidLastTransaction Method here
    voidLastTransaction: function() {
        this.total -= this.lastTransactionAmount;
    }

};

cashRegister.scan('eggs',1);
cashRegister.scan('milk',1);
cashRegister.scan('magazine',1);
cashRegister.scan('chocolate',4);

//Void the last transaction and then add 3 instead
cashRegister.voidLastTransaction();
cashRegister.scan('chocolate',3);

//Show the total bill
console.log('Your bill is '+cashRegister.total);

@rorygrenade,
It is important to know if the we are writing about the section Bleep Bleep
which requires 8.55 as the right answer. ....
Have you tried a refresh Bowser
