Bieber game!

#1

Hi, I have a little problem, while learning JS. With this Bieber game.

So, lesson2, stage 5:
Program askes me to add if statment.

Here is my code:

console.log("You are at a Justin Bieber concert, and you hear this lyric 'Lace my shoes off, start racing.'");
console.log("Suddenly, Bieber stops and says, 'Who wants to race me?'");
var userAnswer = prompt("Do you want to race Bieber on stage?");

if (userAnswer === "Yes")
{
    console.log("You and Bieber start racing. It's neck and neck! You win by a shoelace!");
}
else
{
    console.log("Oh no! Bieber shakes his head and sings 'I set a pace, so I can race without pacing.'");
}

And this is error, that I've got:

Oops, try again. Did you add an if statement to your code?
What have I done wrong?

Thanks to all ))

"Yes" needs to be all lower case => "yes".

#3

Didn't worked. I tried both

#4

Odd...now I'm getting an error for my code (I passed this lesson a while ago.). Let me check again.

#5

Ok...I somehow passed it (again) but it's weird. I believe this needs to be checked....
So i put your code in twice. The first one is commented out using /* */.
The other one is not commented out....
Let me know if this works. I believe this lesson is a little buggy.

#6

Could you please show me your code, that is correct for the system?
Actually, I am not waiting. Working with next tasks.But, it would be nice, if I pass it for 100%.

Thanks alot.

#7

I basically used yours.
Just put it twice and comment out the other one. Should be able to pass.

/* insert your code */

insert your code again

#8

It works. But it is so stupid...
Actually, as you, I think someone have to repair it.

Big thanks to you.

#9

Yea..it is a bit odd...I passed this lesson a few months ago and I didn't have to do this workaround. So I think it's just a recent and hopefully easily fixable issue. Maybe you can come back to it later and remove the commented out code to see if it's alright.

Thanks you. The admin has to do something about this section. Good work codeacademy...
