Background Check Error

#1

On the Background Check page, I put the background size as cover, but I keep getting an error that tells me I didn't.

My code:

Even after resetting and refreshing everything, I'm still getting the "Oops, try again. Set the body's "background-size" to "cover" error. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong, and the other solutions either don't apply or don't work.

Hi Rita,

  1. I think this is in the wrong forum, would you mind giving me a link to the exercise you're on so I can move this topic to the right forum?
  2. I think you'll need to move background-size and background-position to after the background property for it to work.

Oh my god, I didn't even think to do that! I moved the background-size and position behind the background property and it went through. Thanks!

The issue was for the About You, Background Check section.

background is a shortcut/shorthand, you can have background-size and background-position before background, but then change background into background-image, at the moment background overwrite background-size en position

What is the purpose of mixing shorthand background with specific properties background-size and background-position? Shouldn't we encourage users to write code consistent with style guides?

I mean, wouldn't it be cleaner to use only the shorthand or only the specific properties? For example:

background: url("https://codecademy-content.s3.amazonaws.com/courses/web-beginner-en-3pc6w/images/splash.jpg") center center / cover;
