I know this is probably a commonly asked question, but I truly do need the assistance. I’d love to change my username, but when I googled how to do so, the option simply doesn’t exist on the page that everyone else links to (this one). There’s only the option to change my email and my password, which are fine as they are.
I only just joined a few hours ago, so I hope I haven’t missed my window to change my username. I would love it if anyone was able to assist me, either by pointing out something I missed (though I checked the other pages associated with that link) or by passing it along to someone else who can help!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I appreciate it!
You have to go to your profile on your codecademy learning page and then “edit profile”. (click on your avatar in the upper right corner to get there).
I figured it out, thanks to your guidance! The site wasn’t as intuitive as I was hoping it’d be, but I got there in the end, and that’s all that really matters. Thank you so much for all your help.
I managed to change the username on my codecademy learning page. However it is still showing as @erikjavierbaaken here in the forum. What am I doing wrong?
If I recall correctly, I had to log out and then sign back in before it showed my new username. Have you tried doing that yet? Beyond that, I’m not really sure.
Click on your profile picture (top right corner of page). A drop-down will appear (with fields for “Profile”, “Account + Billing”, “My Home”, “Help Center”. “Log Out”). Click on the “Profile” option.
On your profile page, there should be a “Edit Profile” button. Click on the button. Change your username and then click “Save changes” at the bottom of the page.
Log out of the forums as well as from your codecademy account. Log in again to codecademy and forums. Theoretically your username should have changed.
Make sure you log out of BOTH Codecademy AND the forums (the forum logout button is separate from the Codecademy logout button).
