Asking Help stuck at 10. Ending Up

pyg = 'ay'

original = raw_input('Enter a word:')
word = original.lower()
first = word[0]
new_word = new_word[1:len(new_word)]
if len(original) > 0 and original.isalpha():
    original.lower ()
    print new_word
    print 'empty'

you use new_word in the same line as you defining it:

new_word = new_word[1:len(new_word)]

that doesn't work, first you need to define a variable before you can use it

thank you sir for your help, I figure it out now....
