Another Newbie with Brown Bear Lesson 10 and 11 Issues (With Code)

#1

Hello:
I was having issues with lesson 10. The lesson was "In index.html, transform the image on your page into a link by wrapping the image element with an anchor element. Set the target attribute so that the link opens in a new window.

Use the same URL as before:

 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_bear

I was having issues with my code and the picture with the bear disappearing. I think I finally got it to work because the lesson had a checkmark. This is the code I used:

<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_bear" target="_blank"><img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/codecademy-content/courses/web-101/web101-image_brownbear.jpg" alt="A brown bear"/></a>

I then went to lesson 11. The exercise stated: "In index.html, place your cursor directly after the closing tag of ordered list. Next, press the "Enter" (or "Return") key on your keyboard a few times and then run your code. Note that there is no change in the positioning of the elements in the browser".

This sounded easy enough but I can't get a checkmark on the lesson. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

In that lesson they just want you to know that the white spaces that are not between tags will not change the way the page looks like.

For example:

This:

<div>
  <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_bear" target="_blank"><img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/codecademy-content/courses/web-101/web101-image_brownbear.jpg" alt="A brown bear"/></a>
</div>

Looks the same to this:

<div>
  <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_bear" target="_blank"><img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/codecademy-content/courses/web-101/web101-image_brownbear.jpg" alt="A brown bear"/></a>

</div>

No matter how many white spaces are out of the tags.

Thanks. I realized that there is no check mark that lights up in that lesson. I was looking at the checkbox that shows it is an activity!

I believe you need to indent the second paragraph that starts with "The following countries...".
