Alt attribute visible on the browser

Hi, I'm using the alt attribute for an image. How do I avoid it to appear on the browser over the image? It's supposed to appear only when the mouse passes over the image, isn't it? Thanks

The content of the alt attribute should only be visible if the image cannot be displayed.

IE7 (and earlier) incorrectly displayed the content as a tooltip when you moused over the image. If you want to create a tooltip, you should use the title attribute.

It sounds like you might have made a mistake in your code; remember the syntax to insert an image into a web page is:

<img src="image_url" alt="text">

Thanks a lot, the mistake was I was using the src after the alt.
