Alice error *should return a number*

#1

I cannot see what is wrong with my code I have run it outside the website and it performed fine. When I submit it I get the error,
Oops, try again. get_class_average([alice]) should return a number
What am I missing?

    for item in students:
        results.append(get_average(item))
