Hello all. I am practicing with a new project in Workspace. However, I am getting stuck on adding photos from my PC to the Workspace. Any insight?
Unfortunately that capability has be denied. Some years ago we uploaded a series of pictures in a post, then copied the URLs and pasted them into the workspace. That worked for awhile but soon enough the content was taken down.
You could try it temporarily, but don’t expect it to be there in future.
Understood. At least I know now instead of spending more time trying to figure out why my pic isn’t showing up. Thanks. What about links to online photos? Does that still work in Workspace?
We would wish to assume it is a reputable and trustworthy site, notwithstanding. Paste the URL into your IMG src attribute, and use the ALT text given on the source site (don’t make up your own). Check it in a week or two and see if the image is still there.
The image above (in the post) is on CC’s CDN. Don’t delete that post. Copy the image location and paste it in your workspace. It should work, for now. Again, like above, check back in a couple of weeks, and monitor afterwards.
Also, bear in mind that the forum is a different domain to the workspace, which gets additional security scrutiny, we can assume.
One last, and perhaps most important proviso, CC cannot permit hosting Getty Images, et al, non-public domain content on their CDN. Be sure you have permission, creative commons license or public domain rights to display any images you post. Even if you might skirt copyright laws, for a time, CC can’t. They are a publicly traded company and have to do everything by the book.
