I just finished my Portfolio Project. I really enjoyed this exercise! Very helpful in preparing for the real working world 
A few highlights from my site:
- Fully responsive across devices and browsers
- Personalized domain (through GoDaddy)
- Includes a multi-destination image carousel (built with JavaScript) directing to individual projects
- Includes an enquiry form (using HTML Forms) that directs enquiry submissions to my email (using PHP)
