About class attribute "left" in the "Wine Festival" exercise

In the project to create a table schedule “Wine Festival” they ask us to put a class attribute: “left”. But I don’t know why is this necesary. I tried without putting this class and the table looks similar. Can anybody help me for this? Thank you very much and sorry for my english

Hi @alfonsoj3! Welcome to the forums!

In html, assigning a class to an element will allow for that element to be targeted specifically by CSS (that is usually linked in a .css file).

The assignment of a class itself has no effect until the css is modified

My guess is that if it’s being introduced in a lesson, it means that either later the css will be applied, or it’s meant to simply “classify it” for organization purposes (which is not a bad thing).

When the design of the page is more complicated, you will want to classify things such as main content, side-bar content, footer, etc. The specificity in template form will allow you to then save it and use it for multiple designs as you need.
