I am including on my new site a bootstrap navbar, but I want to change the color of the nav-links and I want their color to also change on hover, but it is not being applied.
Is it because the Boot. stylesheet is overriding my own? If so, what should I do?
As I understand it, CSS rules work on a “last applied sticks” basis; so, if your custom CSS file is the one that the browser loads last (i.e. the <link> tag is after the one for the Bootstrap CSS) then your CSS rules ought to override any coming from Bootstrap.
Without a copy of the code, though, it’s difficult to say for sure what the cause of your issue is. 
So sorry about that, I can’t believe I find the solution within my code right after I post the question!
I always try not to do that, but sometimes I think I tried everything possible, when there’s one thing I missed
