7. What if choice1 is paper?

#1

hi, could you help me into discovering what I did wrong in my code? I am assuming it is something with the brackets. The error reads: "Unexpected token else". Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. :slight_smile:

Unexpected token else

var compare = function(choice1, choice2) {
 if (choice1 === choice2) {
     return "The result is a tie!";}
 else if (choice1 === "rock") {
     if (choice2 === "scissors") {
         return "rock wins"; }
     else {
        return "paper wins"; }
};
 else if (choice1 === "paper") {
     if (choice2 === "rock") {
         return "paper wins"; }
     else {
         return "scissors wins"; }
}
};

Almost, it's a semicolon instead of a bracket. Take a look at this:

if (choice1 === choice2) {
     return "The result is a tie!";}
 else if (choice1 === "rock") {
     if (choice2 === "scissors") {
         return "rock wins"; }
     else {
        return "paper wins"; }
};                                            <- what's this one doing here?
