7.Returning...only prints goodbye message

#1

print "Awaiting String. . ."
user_input = gets.chomp
user_input.downcase!

if user_input.include? "s"
user_input.gsub!(/s/, "th")

else
print " You need more S's!"
end
[]
end_string = "Friends!"
puts "adios, #{end_string}!"
[]
__
When I put [ ] before my if statement, the console shows it above the changed string.
When I put [ ] after my end statement, the console only "puts" (prints) the goodbye message..

#2

The first branch of the if statement could use a puts statement:

    user_input.gsub!(/s/, "th")
    puts user_input

And the [] are without meaning, and best be removed.
