7: A bit of this And that, but WHY?

I understand the process used to complete this lesson but what is the purpose of this feature? It does not add or subtract binary numbers. I seem to be missing the point of it. What is a practical application of comparing 2 binary numbers in this fashion. Is it used for error checking? Can anyone suggest a purpose? Any help would be appreciated.

<Below this line, add a link to the EXACT exercise that you are stuck at.>

<In what way does your code behave incorrectly? Include ALL error messages.>

<What do you expect to happen instead?>

Replace this line with your code.

<do not remove the three backticks above>

You will mostly deal with this type of thing at the component level. Like arduino and pi are the most popular currently. If you want to send a signal over a network you have to do bit conversion sometimes as well.

There are a bunch more things you can do with it as well but you will not touch them until you get further so just do your best to learn the current stuff and you will get to use it down the line.

Thank you for the response.
