7/7 If useranswer = yes always evaluates true

#1

Hello,

I got a success message for exercise 7 and was permitted to move forward - but it seems like my if statement
is always being evaluated as true. If I enter something other than "yes" into the prompt "console.log("You and Bieber start racing. It's neck and neck! You win by a shoelace!")" still executes. I made it log the value of userAnswer to confirm.

Section of code below:

var userAnswer = prompt("Do you want to race Bieber on stage?");
console.log(userAnswer)
if (userAnswer = "yes") {
console.log("You and Bieber start racing. It's neck and neck! You win by a shoelace!")
}
else {
console.log("Oh no! Bieber shakes his head and sings 'I set a pace, so I can race without pacing.'")

}

try this

var userAnswer = prompt("Do you want to race Bieber on stage?");
console.log(userAnswer);
if (userAnswer == "yes") {
    console.log("You and Bieber start racing. It's neck and neck! You win by a shoelace!");
}
else {
    console.log("Oh no! Bieber shakes his head and sings 'I set a pace, so I can race without pacing.'");
}

Hey try this

confirm("Are u ready to play!");// Check if the user is ready to play!
var age = prompt("What's your age");
if (age < 13) {
console.log("You can play");
}
else {
console.log("Don't you think you should play a game which is made for you like GTA Sanandreas or
vice city etc. Hope you will");
}
console.log("You are at a Justin Bieber concert, and you hear this lyric 'Lace my shoes off, start
racing.'");
console.log("Suddenly, Bieber stops and says, 'Who wants to race me?'");
var userAnswer = prompt("Do you want to race Bieber on stage?");
if (userAnswer === "yes") {
console.log("You and Bieber start racing. It's neck and neck! You win by a shoelace!");
}
else {
console.log("Oh no! Bieber shakes his head and sings 'I set a pace, so I can race without pacing.'");
}
