me too,i did the exact thing it told me
01.In index.html inside the head element add this link element: <link href="http://s3.amazonaws.com/codecademy-content/courses/ltp/css/shift.css" rel="stylesheet">. This is a CSS file that loads up the custom font for use in the page.
02.In main.css, inside the .jumbotron h1 selector, set font-family to 'Shift', sans-serif
and i did it all and it says i didnt this is my html:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <link href="http://s3.amazonaws.com/codecademy-content/courses/ltp/css/shift.css" rel="stylesheet">
  </head>

  <body>
    <div class="nav">
      <div class="container">
        <ul>
          <li><a href="#">Airbnb logo</a></li>
          <li><a href="#">Browse</a></li>
        </ul>
        <ul>
          <li><a href="#">Sign Up</a></li>
          <li><a href="#">Log In</a></li>
          <li><a href="#">Help</a></li>
        </ul>
      </div>
    </div>

AND CSS:

.nav a {
  color: #5a5a5a;
  font-size: 11px;
  font-weight: bold;
  padding-bottom: 14px;
  padding-left: 10px;
  padding-right: 10px;
  padding-top: 14px;
  text-transform: uppercase;
}
  .jumbotron {
 background-image: url('https://goo.gl/04j7Nn');
  height: 500px;
  }
  .jumbotron h1 {
      color: #fff;
      font-size: 48px;
      font-weight: bold;
  }
  .jumbotron p {
    color: #fff;
    font-size: 20px;
  }
  jumbotron h1 {
      font-family:'Shift', sans-serif;
  }

6. Jumbotron: Fonts -- add the link element for custom font

You have somehow removed the link to your main.css file. Maybe when you added your shift.css link you accidentally deleted it.

Without that main.css line, none of your CSS rules are being applied. You should be able to see that in your web preview window. Your nav links aren't all uppercase - that is one of the easier ones to spot, the color won't be right either.

Do you see what I mean?
