#3 Create a New Post, possible bug?

#1

Hello, I think there may be a problem with #3, I tried everything I could to make it work but nothing worked. I even copy & pasted the hint into the workspace and it still didn't work.

I keep getting the same error message of, "Oops, try again. It looks like the Post button didn't add a new message. Remember to prepend a new li element inside the event handler."

And my code looks like this.
var main = function() {
$('.btn').click(function() {
var post = $('.status-box').val();
$('

  • ').text(post).prependTo('posts');
    });
    };
    $(document).ready(main);

    So what am I doing wrong here? Much appreciated.

    Hi Erin,

    ('posts') should be ('.posts') :)

    Thank you so much, I am really getting annoyed that just missing a period or semi-colon causes the whole thing to be wrong, plus Code Academy isn't very clear with what the errors are.

    @tagsolver38878 Well, programming can be very frustrating, both on and off of Codecademy - you always have to be careful with where you place stuff.

    Feel free to make suggestions on how to be more clear over in the Feature and Course Requests category!
