3/23 What is wrong?

Oops, try again. Make sure that you use the universal selector * to give a border 1px wide.

* {
   border: 1px dashed #3A5FCD;

the browser zoom affects the border-width, make sure the browser zoom is set to 100%

yes it is set to 100%
infact i did reset it several times.
currently using chromebut hv also tried in firefox

Is your browser maximized? Sometimes, when you resize your browser (even just a little), it won't work.
If you are working with dual/multiple monitors, it's best to move the browser to the largest monitor and maximize it there.

No need to make two topics

Can we see your full html and css code?

yes it is maximized.

<!DOCTYPE html>
		<link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="stylesheet.css"/>
		<h3>Boxes within boxes!</h3>
			<p>Paragraph One</p>
			<p>Paragraph Two</p>
			<p>Paragraph Three</p>

* {
   border: 1px dashed #3A5FCD;

your code is fine, sure the zoom is set to 100%? and you tried it on different browsers?

yes stetim94 i did try it at 100% and also in firefox instead of chrome.
I already know about this as i have read older forum and because of no resolution from those solutions thats y i posted this.
