20/21 background: limegreen; not working!

#1

So it isn't accepting my code for the background: limegreen;. Could someone please help? I've looked at all the other people asking here about it and my code looks just like the answers. Please help! (I had to take some of the original code out because it coded my website into this... oops)

    color: white;
    font-family: Helvetica;
    background-size: cover;
    background-position: center center;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-attachment: fixed;
}

input {
    border: 0;
    padding: 12px;
    font-size: 18px;
input [type="submit"] {
    background: limegreen;
    color: black;
}
}

I am having this same problem! Same step, same issue! If someone can help, that would be awesome!

It isn't seeing your input [type="submit"] { rule because you didn't put a closing curly bracket on your input { rule.

I'm also looking at the last line that you posted. That should be a closing </body> tag. Closing tags all have that / before the element's name.

I would like to help, but I can't do much without seeing your code.

#7

You left out the backticks around your code.

Screenshots are great sometimes. The trouble with using them here is that I would like to see all of your code and copy/paste/run it myself.

You did!

  1. Your input[type="submit"] { ... } rule is inside your body { ... } rule. Take it out of there, move it anywhere, except for inside of another rule's { ... }.

  2. There is a line, padding: 12px: that is not inside of any of the rules. You might want to look back to see where you meant to put that.

  3. I can see that you fixed the closing body tag. I can also see that your opening body tag has a / on it. That's the </body> right after the </head>. Opening tags don't have /.

Here is my code. It still isn't working. I got so frustrated I had to stop coding this and work on something else... Any help would be appreciated.

        background-repeat: no-repeat;
        background-attachment: fixed;
    }

    input {
        border: 0;
        padding: 12px;
        font-size: 18px;
    }
    input [type="submit"] {

You will have to change that /body tag to just body. It is the beginning of your body, not the end.

And no space after input:

Bless your soul. Let's be friends. :joy:

I have pretty much the same problem, can anyone help? (Also, I would paste my code in but whenever I do it just appears as the web page, not the raw code. How do you paste code?)

#15

This happens whenever I try to paste in the code:

I love blueberries, and most people consider me as the king of them.
