16/19 cant seem to get it right

#1

This is my code and i cant seem to get through with it:

// Add your code below this line!
xhr = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhr.open("GET", "https://www.codecademy.com/", false);

// Add your code above this line!

console.log(xhr.status);
console.log(xhr.statusText);

The response from the lesson id:
Oops, try again. Did you set xhr equal to new XMLHttpRequest(), then call xhr.open() with the arguments listed? Check the Hint if you need help

#2

they messed up the instructions on that lesson

#3

Also, I think you forgot to send the request. After xhr.open(...); add on the next line:
xhr.send();

#4

Yeah and they want you to pay for this. They don't tell you the pro is still in beta until you are requesting help on every module because they are so buggy, then you find out that the "pro" help hasn't even looked at the module before. Still waiting on the refund I was promised.

#5

// Add your code below this line!
var xhr= new XMLHttpRequest();
xhr.open("GET", "https://www.codecademy.com/", false);

// Add your code above this line!
xhr.send()
console.log(xhr.status);
console.log(xhr.statusText);

#7

The problem lies on the fact that the original url is "http://www.codecademy.com/".
You need to go with https in order to get an answer.

#8

Instruction is buggy. You need to use
xhr.open("GET","https://www.codecademy.com/",false);

#9

You would be a fool to pay for codecademy. There are so many better courses on udemy, codeschool.com, treehouse.com etc... Don't even know why I'm on here....

Thanks this really helped.
