11. Loops and Arrays 1 - tiny question about cities.length

#1

Earlier in the JavaScript lessons we learned that .length gave you the number of letters in a string. I believe we were using name.length etc..

In this lesson we're trying to get the number of elements in an array.. so we took the arrayName.length to accomplish this.

Should I understand .length as a way to count what's within? I.e. strings contain letters so it counts letters and arrays contain elements so it counts those?

And, what if I wanted to count the letters in an array's particular element using .length?

Thanks for bearing with me.
