def compute_bill(food):

    for item in food:
        if stock[item] > 0:
            total += prices[item]
            stock[item] - 1
    return total

Why does this return incorrect total?

Hi @gohancz ,

This statement does not update the stock dictionary ...

stock[item] - 1

This one would update it ...

stock[item] -= 1
